COURSES TAUGHT 6th Grade Science
EXTRACURRICULAR Seed, Root and STEM Garden Coordinator

BIO

I grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, where I studied Environmental Studies with a double concentration in Spanish and Literature.  This is my 6th year teaching, and my third year teaching 6th grade science at Austin Middle School. My teaching career began in outdoor environmental education and I am certified in the ProjectWild outdoor environmental education curriculum. I am a former elementary school math and science teacher, as well. I have a 200hr Yoga teacher certification which helps to incorporate mindfulness and movement and promote focus in the classroom. I am also certified in Permaculture Design from Austin Community College. My husband and I designed and built the organic garden here at Austin. Outside of school, I enjoy gardening, beekeeping, running , yoga and cooking. I love seeing my students learn and discover the magic of life.
